Open the invite your studio sent you and enter the code we send to that email or phone. There is no password. After that, sign in at myvocalstudio.com with the same email or phone.
On a phone: The app has no sign-up. Accept the invite first, then sign in to the app with the same email or phone.
An emailed invite works for 7 days and a texted one for 3. Ask your studio to send a new one, which works right away. "No longer active" means the studio has deactivated your account, so ask them to reactivate it first.
Your studio requires every instructor to sign its agreement first. Read it, tick the box, type your full legal name and click Sign and continue. If the studio updates the agreement, you may be asked to sign again.
One login covers every studio you teach at. On a computer, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose the studio. Each studio keeps its own students, schedule, permissions and pay.
On a phone: In the app, open Settings (top right) and tap Switch role. On the mobile site there is no switcher: open myvocalstudio.com on a computer and click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, or use the app.
Calendar shows your lessons by day, week or month, along with studio events and closures. Lessons lists them to search and sort, and Home shows today and the next three days.
On a phone: In the app, Schedule shows a day or everything upcoming, and Home shows Today or Next 3 days.
Go to Availability and edit your own row. You can do this if your role allows Set availability, which the Teacher role does by default; the studio owner or an admin sets roles in Settings → Team & access → Roles & permissions. Without it the page is read-only, and the studio sets your hours.
On a phone: In the app, go to Settings → Availability → Add weekly hours. If your role doesn’t allow it, it says your studio hasn’t given you permission to manage availability.
On Availability, add Time off for your dates. This needs your role to allow Set availability, and there is no approval step. Nothing is canceled automatically. If lessons fall in those dates, you choose to keep them, reschedule them or cancel them. Closures and one-day changes are set by the studio.
On a phone: In the app, go to Settings → Availability → Add time off. If lessons fall in those dates it offers Save and reschedule, Save only (they stay booked) or Don’t save. On the mobile site, tap the gear → Availability → Add time off; if lessons fall in those dates it says how many first, and they stay booked.
Open the lesson on Calendar or Lessons and choose Completed, No-show or Canceled under "How did it go?". Completed opens 15 minutes before the start and No-show at the start time. You can do this on any lesson you teach, with no permission needed.
On a phone: Tap the lesson on Home or Schedule (or Close out on the next-lesson card) and choose Mark completed or Mark no-show. On the mobile site the sheet has an Outcome section with Completed and No-show.
Open the lesson and choose Cancel… (or Cancel lesson). You can cancel any lesson you teach. If it falls inside the studio’s late-cancellation window, the studio’s policy applies automatically.
On a phone: Tap the lesson and choose Mark canceled (on the mobile site: Outcome → Canceled). Inside the window it asks first whether to charge the fee, use a package lesson or waive it.
Open the lesson and click Reschedule. You can if your role allows Schedule and edit lessons, which the Teacher role does by default; the studio owner or an admin sets roles in Settings → Team & access → Roles & permissions. It only moves the lesson to another time with you. Only the studio can hand a lesson to another teacher.
On a phone: Tap the lesson and choose Reschedule. It only appears if your role allows it.
Yes, if your role allows Schedule and edit lessons (the Teacher role does by default). Use Schedule lesson on Calendar or Lessons. The lesson is always booked with you, and its price comes from the studio’s pricing.
On a phone: On the app’s Home, tap + Lesson, or open the student in Students and tap Schedule at the top of their card.
Open the lesson. The Lesson note is for the student and shows in their portal. The Private note is for staff only and the student never sees it. For notes about a student in general, use My Notes on their page, which only you can see.
On a phone: From Home, tap Notes on the next-lesson card. From Schedule, tap the lesson: the sheet has Lesson notes and Private note rows, with Attach a file and Add a link under Lesson notes.
Open the lesson and use Mark paid, choosing how they paid. You can do this on any lesson you teach. If the lesson is billed on the family’s monthly invoice, tell the studio, because it is recorded on the invoice instead.
On a phone: Tap the lesson and choose Mark as paid — cash, Venmo, etc.
Only if your role allows Take payments (Lead teacher does by default, Teacher doesn’t), and only for lessons you teach. Otherwise you can mark a lesson paid when money comes in, and the studio collects the rest. A link sent from a student’s page bills their oldest unpaid lesson that is yours, never a colleague’s. The studio owner or an admin sets roles in Settings → Team & access → Roles & permissions, so ask them if you need it.
On a phone: In the app, when your role allows it, the lesson sheet shows Send payment link and, after the outcome is set, Charge card on file; otherwise those rows are hidden. On the mobile site the lesson sheet has Charge card on file (with Take payments), Mark as paid and Waive / no charge, but no link: the link is the Pay link button on the student’s page, and Send link beside each seat of a class.
No. Lesson prices are set by the studio, and only a studio admin can change one. Message the studio from Messages with the lesson and the price you think it should be.
Your earnings are on the phone, not on the computer: in the app, open Settings → Reports, or tap lessons this week on Home; on the mobile site, open Reports from Home. EARNED uses your studio’s own pay rule for This week, This month or Last month. If it shows TAUGHT with no amount, your studio hasn’t set your pay rate yet. On a computer, Payments in the sidebar shows what students still owe on your lessons and what they paid; it is not your pay.
On a phone: In the app, go to Settings → Reports. On the mobile site, open Reports from Home.
Your rate and how you’re paid are set by your studio, and payouts are recorded by the studio, so message them from Messages. MyVocalStudio doesn’t move money: the studio pays you however it already does.
On a phone: Unpaid lessons under Reports, like Payments on a computer, is what students still owe the studio, not your pay.
Students lists the students you’re the main teacher for, plus anyone you teach in a lesson, duet or class. Students who only study with other teachers aren’t visible to you. If a student is missing, ask the studio to set you as their instructor.
For students you’re the main teacher for, you can change their name, birthday, address and emergency contact, if your role lets you edit students (the Add and edit students & families area, on for the Teacher role by default): open the student in Students → Details. The student’s own phone and email, and anything else, are changed by the studio. To add a new student, use Add student on Students (on a phone: Students → + Add); the student becomes yours.
On a computer, Home → Needs attention → Review opens Requests, where each one has Approve or Decline, and a reschedule also has Offer other times: up to three of your openings, held 24 hours for the student (tell them yourself; nothing is sent). It needs your role to allow Schedule and edit lessons (the Teacher role does by default). Approving a cancellation applies the studio’s policy.
On a phone: In the app or on the mobile site, tap the requests count on Home. A reschedule also offers Offer other times on the mobile site, or Offer another time in the app (one time per offer).
Yes, if your role allows Schedule and edit lessons (the Teacher role does by default). On a computer it appears on Home under Needs attention: Approve books it with you, and Review opens Requests, which also has Decline and Offer other times (up to three of your openings, held 24 hours). A request for a weekly time books the first lesson. If the email is already on one of the studio’s students, the studio chooses who it is, so approving it tells you to leave it for them.
On a phone: On the mobile site, Requests lists them under New lesson requests with Approve, Decline and Offer other times. The app doesn’t show them; there they go to your studio.
Yes, on a computer. Open the canceled lesson (it has to still be in the future) and use This time is free. Choose Offer it and tell my students or Just make it claimable, and Withdraw the offer if you fill it another way.
On a phone: This isn’t in the app yet. Use a computer.
Open the class session and mark each student. Close class records anyone left unmarked as attended. You can only run classes you teach, and the studio handles class payments.
On a phone: In the app, go to Settings → Classes, or tap the class on Schedule, to open the session. Tap Attended or No-show for each student (Add a student if someone is missing), then Close out class: anyone unmarked counts as attended and payments stay open. Reopen attendance undoes it.
Yes, if your role allows Manage events (Lead teacher does by default, Teacher doesn’t); the studio owner or an admin sets roles in Settings → Team & access → Roles & permissions. Go to Calendar → New Event, fill in the details and click Create event. Attendees and registrations are managed by the studio.
On a phone: On the mobile site, when your role allows Manage events, tap + on Schedule → Add Event; your own event then opens with Open event. The app does not create events.
Go to My Profile → Your calendar. Subscribe to my lessons adds your lessons to Google, Apple or Outlook in one click (your calendar app decides how often it refreshes; Google can take a few hours). Send each lesson as a calendar invite emails each lesson you teach as an invite that updates or cancels itself: confirm your address and press Turn on. The first time, click Add to calendar on one invite, and after that it’s automatic. Use one or the other, not both.
On a phone: Both are on the phone site (Profile → Your calendar) and in the app (Settings → Your calendar).
On a computer, go to My Profile → Notifications, where each switch turns one kind of notice on or off; the phone has them too. The daily agenda email also has to be turned on by your studio, so ask them if it never arrives.
On a phone: In the app, go to Settings → Notifications: Lesson reminders, New booking requests, New messages and a Daily wrap-up reminder. The mobile site’s Profile also has Reschedules & cancels, Daily agenda and Open times this week.
On break, you can still sign in and your booked lessons stay, but students can’t book you for anything new. Deactivated means the studio has closed your access. Contact your studio owner to change either one.
Go to My Profile, click the photo to upload one, and add your Specialty / instruments and Bio. Turn on Public profile and choose your profile URL to get a page anyone with the link can see.
Open Payments in the sidebar: Unpaid lessons is what students still owe the studio on your lessons, and Recent payments is what came in. It is not your pay; the studio collects that money.
On a phone: In the app, Settings → Reports → See the lessons behind these numbers. On the mobile site, open Reports from Home.
On a computer, Home → Needs attention lists today’s lessons that still need an outcome. Open each one and mark it Completed or No-show; a lesson still to come needs nothing yet.
On a phone: In the app, tap to close out at the top of Home: it lists what needs an outcome, and each lesson opens to Close out. There is no End of day in the teacher app’s Settings.
Yes, on any lesson you teach, with no extra permission. Open the lesson and, under Lesson notes, press Attach; the student sees the file in their portal and in the lesson recap. On the mobile site, the lesson’s Notes & attachments has Attach a file and Add a link.
On a phone: In the app, open the lesson → Notes → Attachments, then Attach a file or Add a link.
Yes, when your role allows editing your students (the Teacher role does). On Students, press + Add student on a computer, or + Add in the app and on the mobile site. The student is yours from the start, and the form offers to send the portal invite as you save.
On Availability, edit your own row when your role allows Set availability (the Teacher role does). If booked lessons would fall outside the new hours, it asks whether to keep, reschedule or cancel them; nothing moves on its own.
On a phone: In the app, go to Settings → Availability. Tap the trash icon on the hours you want gone, then Add weekly hours with the new times. If booked lessons would fall outside, it asks Remove and reschedule, Remove only (they stay booked) or Keep.
The affected lessons are listed one by one. Each gets Move it (pick one of your open times or another date), Run online, Keep as-is or Cancel it (the student is emailed and any package credit goes back). Nothing changes until you apply the list.
On a phone: In the app, the Affected lessons screen lists each lesson with Move it, Run online, Keep as-is or Cancel it. Nothing changes until you tap Apply N changes at the bottom.
In the app, open Settings → Delete account and press Schedule my account to close. You get 30 days to change your mind with Keep my account. Your studio keeps its own lesson and pay records; the closure removes your login. To leave one studio but keep your login, ask that studio to deactivate you instead.
On a phone: In the app: Settings → Delete account → Schedule my account to close; Keep my account undoes it within 30 days.
Open My Profile in the sidebar: photo, bio, specialty and your public link are all there.
On a phone: On the mobile site, tap the gear → Edit my profile; it opens the full profile page (photo, bio, specialty, public link). In the app, Settings → your profile row.
