Private lessons, group class and chamber music, together.

A string student rarely has just one lesson a week. Here the private lesson, the group class and the quartet coaching all live on one calendar and bill the right family.

Your week

A week in a string studio.

  1. Private lessons, after school

Standing weekly lessons roll forward until you stop them, with a buffer you set between students. A parent who needs to move one sends a request, and you approve or decline.

  2. Group class on the weekend

Every student in the class holds a seat, and the class shows how many seats are left on your website. Close it out in one step when it ends.

  3. Chamber coaching

The quartet meets as a semi-private lesson with four seats. Each player is billed for their own seat, so nobody splits a bill by hand.

  4. Notes for home

Write what to practice and attach a PDF or a recording to the lesson note. For a young player, the recap email goes to the parent.

  5. Audition season

Sell extra lessons as a package to the students who are auditioning, tag them so you can message just them, and add the pianist as a one-time charge.

  6. The recital

One event, open to the whole studio or to the students with one tag, with RSVPs that need no login and a message to everyone who is coming.

Questions

Questions string teachers ask

Can a violin student have a private lesson and a group class each week?

Yes. Book the weekly private lesson as a recurring lesson and give the student a seat in the group class. Both sit on one calendar, and the family sees both from one parent login. Scheduling →

How do I charge for chamber music coaching?

Set it up as a semi-private lesson priced per seat, with a seat for each player. Each seat is billed to that player, so every family pays only its own share.

Can parents approve their child’s lesson bookings?

Yes, if you turn it on. A child's bookings then wait for a parent's approval, and one parent login covers every child in the family. Students and parents →

How do I bill for the pianist at a recital or audition?

Add it as a one-time charge, if you bill by invoice. Name it and set the amount, and it goes on the family's next invoice, or invoice it right away. Payments and invoices →

What happens when my group class is full?

New students join the waitlist from your booking page. When a seat frees up, it goes to the next person, either automatically or when you approve.

Can I track daily practice?

Yes, as a daily check-in. You set the current practice assignment, and each day the student taps "Yes, I practiced" to build a streak. It records that practice happened, not how many minutes. Lessons, notes and practice →

How much does it cost for a string teacher?

Solo studios are always free. The Solo plan gives one teacher unlimited students, private lessons and group classes, invoicing, family billing, payments and the app. Encore is $10 a month and adds the AI assistant, text reminders, outreach email and several events at once. We take no cut of lesson payments. Pricing →
