Program: MyVocalStudio lesson reminders & account notifications

MyVocalStudio is a studio management platform for independent music and voice teachers. Students (and their parents/guardians) can opt in to receive text messages from MyVocalStudio: lesson reminders, payment links, schedule-change notifications, and replies to their questions. Texts go only to numbers whose owner has opted in as described below. Every message is sent under, and begins with, the MyVocalStudio brand and names the studio it is about.

Students opt in by entering their mobile number and checking the SMS consent box in their student profile after signing in at myvocalstudio.com. The exact field and consent language are shown below. Consent is stored per student with a timestamp, is never required as a condition of purchase, and can be withdrawn at any time by replying STOP or unchecking the box. Without it, no texts are sent to that number; one-time sign-in codes a person requests for themselves are the only exception.

A parent or guardian whose own mobile number the studio has on file (as the guardian’s phone or the family’s phone) opts in the same way, for their own number: after signing in, they check the “OK to text me” box on their student’s profile, shown below, or the consent box when claiming an invitation that reached their number. Only the parent can check it; studio staff cannot check it for them.

Consent belongs to the number. When a number that has opted in is changed, by anyone, its consent is cleared and no texts go to the new number until its owner checks the box again for it.

Message program details

  • Message types: lesson reminders, payment links, schedule-change notifications, and replies to student questions. No marketing.
  • Example: “MyVocalStudio: Hanson Vocal Studio reminder. Piano lesson with Doug today at 3:00 PM. Reply STOP to opt out.”
  • Frequency: varies based on the student’s lessons and payments.
  • Cost: message & data rates may apply.
  • Opt-out: reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe.
  • Consent: agreeing to texts is never a condition of any purchase.
